Motorisation
Once a motorized order is put through, a molex cable is posted to you for each motor required. This is to be handed on to the electrician and wired up as per the Wiring diagram provided.
We have many different types of motors available, depending on the application. We utilize SOMFY motors, which are manufactured in France. SOMFY is the most popular motor used in Australia for blinds today.
SOMFY LS 40 RTS 3/30: This is our 40mm RTS motor. This means that it is a slimline motor used for smaller sized blinds. The bracketing system is simple as it uses the standard size Acmeda chain operated brackets on our 40mm tubes. RTS means that it is Radio Transmitted, and is operated either by a remote control, or wall switch. Neither of these have to be attached to the motor. These blinds can be linked, however we only recommend 2 blinds being linked together. SOMFY motors come with either a 1 channel or 4-channel remote control. Wall switches are only available in 1 channel. SOMFY also has a separate timer as an option, which can lift the blind up, or let it back down at certain times of the day.
Please Note: When installing this motor it is imperative that the motor cable is in the 'down' position. If the motor cable is pointing up, there can be no warranty claims for faulty goods.
SOMFY LT 50 RTS 6/17: This is our 60mm RTS Motor. It is placed on a heavy-duty 60mm motorized tube to ensure that the tube doesn't bow for larger sized blinds. Once again we recommend only linking 2 blinds together, but if you have a qualified check measure and installer, 3 blinds can be linked. The special bracketing system has a clutch for linked blinds, which allows you to easily adjust the position of the tube so that the base bars line up.
SOMFY LS 40 3/30: This is the SOMFY 40mm hard-wired motor. This means that it does not have a radio-transmitted device to connect to a remote device. It must be hard wired either to a C-Bus system (smart home) or a hard-wired wall switch. When connecting a hard wired motor to a C-bus system, the blind will need to be programmed into that system, to be operated by the main switch, or a remote control provided by the smart system.
SOMFY LT 50 6/17: This is our SOMFY 60mm hard-wired motor. Once again it does not have a radio transmitter, so must be hard wired as above.
WHISPER 40mm or 60mm: SOMFY has introduced a new motor, which works in the same way as the LS40 and LT 50 motors. It is also available in both RTS or hard wired systems. The Whisper motor however, does not make a sound when you lower or raise the blind.
Motorised 60mm: The bracketing system is unique, allowing you to ensure that the blinds are perfectly level, without having to adjust the entire bracket. The special tool sent out with the blind allows a 10mm movement up and down so that they can be perfectly aligned, to prevent the fabric tracking off. It also saves time, as you will not need to pack the blinds if the windows are out of square. You can also link blinds together, and even link around a corner.
We have just released the new motorized Holistic duo bracket, which can also be linked (both motors on the same side)
