-Screens: These fabrics allow you to see straight through your blind, while retaining daytime privacy. They will stop approximately 90-95% of UV rays from entering your home, protecting floorboards and any furniture that is in the way of the harsh Australian sun. Excellent for views as the blinds can be kept down throughout the day. The darker colours will reduce glare, where the lighter colours will reduce heat. Please remember that it will not offer any night time privacy

Bracketing Systems
-Acmeda Manual Operation: There are 2 different size brackets available, depending on the size of the blind.
40mm projection40mm x 60mm
55mm projection40mm x 75mm
The size of the brackets supplied depends on the size of the blind, and the type of fabric used. This will be determined by the factory staff. Acmeda has 3 different size tubes available (40mm, 43mm and 48mm heavy duty) - these tube sizes are compatible with both bracket sizes above.
-Acmeda Manual Operation Duo Brackets: There are 2 different brackets available, depending on the control of the blinds.
Opposite Side Controls120 x 121mm
Same Side Controls100 x 115mm
Linking brackets are also available in the Acmeda system in either same side or opposite side controls.
-Holistic Flooring Manual Operation: There are 3 different size brackets available, depending on the size of the blind The size of the tube and bracketing system is determined by the size of the blind (refer to tube sizes).

-Chain Tensioners and Stoppers:
According to the Fair Trading Regulation, it is law to provide all looped cords with a tensioning device. This device is supplied with each individual blind, and is to be attached to the wall or architrave on the same side as the chain. The chain runs through the device,
Our chain tensioners are available in both black and white to match the blind mechanisms and brackets. We also have different designs whether the blind is fixed on the face of the window, or inside the window recess. The special designs allow operation of the blind without needing to twist the chain for it to be fixed to the wall.
Each blind also comes with a clear plastic chain stopper washer. This is used to stop the blind from hitting the windowsill when the blind is rolled all the way down. By placing the stopper at a certain point of the chain, it will not go through the mechanism, stopping it just millimeters before it collides with the sill or floor.
Please find below the Regulations for looped chains from the Department of Fair Trading for NSW.
REGULATION
(1) A corded interior window covering must be so designed that the looped cord used to lower and raise the covering is at least 1600mm above the base of the covering when the covering is lowered to its lowest point.
(2) Subsection (1) does not apply if the looped cord used to lower and raise the covering-
(a) can not form a loop with a circumference of more than 300mm, for example, because the covering includes an effective way of retracting or securing the looped cord;
(b) has a cord release device that-
(i) passes the release test for cord release devices set out in ANSI A100, Appendix A; (ii) if the device is intended to entirely detach from the covering when it releases its loop, does not, when tested in accordance with AS/NZS ISO 8124, clause 5.2,1 fit entirely into the small parts cylinder mentioned in that clause, whatever the device's operation; or
(c) has a tension device that complies with ANSI A100, clause 6.5.4
-Fabric Roll:
There are two different ways that the fabric can be rolled onto the tube during the manufacturing process.
Normal Roll (fabric rolls towards the window and sits closer to the glass)
Reverse Roll (fabric rolls away from the window and creates a gap between the fabric and the glass)
Each way has its advantages and disadvantages depending on the application of the window, these are outlined below.
Normal Roll: Can be used for blinds sitting either on the face or in the recess of the window. The fabric rolls closer to the glass, which creates a smaller air pocket between the fabric and the glass. This reduces the amount of heat entering your home.
The chain is easily accessible, and you don't have to reach through the fabric to operate the blind.
If you have a coloured blockout fabric however, you will be able to see the white backing on the top of the roller. This is not always the best look.
Reverse Roll: Recommended only for blinds sitting inside the recess of the window. If a face fixed blind is reversed roll, there will be a large gap between the fabric and the wall, letting in both light and heat, aswell as allowing unwanted eyes to see in if privacy is an issue.
Blinds rolled in this way can be more aesthetically pleasing as it covers the roll underneath, and creates its own small pelmet. It is also an excellent choice for blinds with handles, as the fabric sits out more and bypasses the protruding object without damaging the base bar or fabric.
-Spring Assist:
We now have special spring assist option for those heavy blinds.
Available to suit both the Acmeda and Louver-Lite systems, the spring assist mechanism is placed on the chain control end and is set up and wound up here in the factory. This means that the blind can simply be installed the same as any other blind!
How it works: The spring is wound up automatically as the blind is brought down. When the chain is pulled in the opposite direction to raise the blind, the unwinding of the spring helps to lift, which means that less force is needed.
Just note on your order that a spring assist is required, and we'll make sure that it is included with your order.
Please Note: A spring assist is not recommended for smaller size blinds, as it is not functional.
-Linkages:
There are 2 different blind linking systems available for chain operated blinds. Both systems will give a 20mm gap in the middle between fabrics. Linking 2 blinds together are mainly used for large expanses of glass such as sliding doors where you don't want chains hanging in the middle. Just remember that when lifting 2 blinds together it can be a bit heavier, so a spring assist is recommended.
Acmeda: This neat system allows you to link 2 blinds together with the one operation. There is a linking bracket for both a single operated blind, or duo blinds.
Holistic Flooring: There are two different ways that the blinds can be linked.
The first is to have 2 blinds linking with the chain control on one side
The second way is to have 2 blinds linked with a chain control on each side. This can be a lot neater instead of having 2 brackets butting up next to each other. There is however a 30mm gap in the center.
The Holistic Flooring links are not yet available in the duo system.
Motorised: There are 2 types of links in the motorized systems.
The first is a standard link, where 2 or more blinds can be operated with the one motor. This will save in cost as only one motor is required, but remember that they can not be operated separately, and must go up and doewn together. Our linked motorised blinds have a specially designed clutch in the mechanism, which allows you to turn the blind around in the brackets and align the base bars. You can also adjust he linking bracket a total of 10mm to align the blinds correctly. There will always be a gap of approximately 30mm between fabrics.
The second is a link which can go round corners. This bracket can go around any angle from 0-90 degrees. The gap can be much larger than a standard link depending on the angle required, and whether the blind is to be normal or reverse rolled. A reverse roll in this situation will always reduce the gap between fabrics.
-Tube Sizes:
To ensure that each blind manufactured sits perfect and is easy to operate, we utilize different size tubes and mechanisms depending on the size of each blind.
Please find below the grid of systems to suit the Louvrelite mechanisms and brackets:
TUBE SIZES
| Drop | Width 0 - 1199 | Width 200 - 1799 | Width1800 - 2099 | Width 2100 + |
| 0 - 1499 | 32mm | 40mm | 45mm | Heavy Duty |
| 1500 - 2099 | 40mm | 40mm | 45mm | Heavy Duty |
| 2100 - 2699 | 45mm | 45mm | 45mm | Heavy Duty |
| 2699 + | Heavy Duty | Heavy Duty | Heavy Duty | Heavy Duty |
If two blinds are next to each other on a window and are at different sizes, we are more than happy to upgrade the system so that the size is consistent and the look is uniform.
We will not however put fabric on a smaller size system as the tube will most likely bow, causing the fabric to ripple with a 'v' shaped effect. If the blind MUST be made in this way, it can not be warranted.
Any blind over 2400 in width or 3000 in drop is considered to be 'oversized' and can not be warranted.
Acmeda system tube sizes will be determined by the factory. There are 3 different size tubes available: 40mm, 43mm and heavy duty. Each system uses the same size brackets (refer to bracketing systems).
-Base Bar Finishes:
Holistic Flooring offers 2 types of base bars which are both made from quality extruded aluminium:
Round 22mm base bar: This is the standard base bar for Holistic Flooring blinds, and is available in 5 different colours illustrated below:
Square 34mmx12mm base bar: Being heavier than the regular round base bar, it holds the fabric down nicely and looks fantastic on large motorized blinds. It is the new modern look no home should be without.
Not recommended for small blinds on the 32mm tube system.
