What is Laminate Flooring?
Laminate flooring is a click interlocking flooring system that floats on top of the existing sub floor. The sub floor could be a wood sub floor, a concrete slab, an existing vinyl floor, or any other existing flooring type. Laminate Floor is not attached to the floor underneath, instead a special underlay is laid prior to the new installation. Doing this not only prevents the evaporation of moisture from beneath the new flooring, it also reduces noise from the flooring to the lower floor level. The click system makes the installation of the floating floor very easy.
