Choosing a Carpet Style
There are 4 types of carpet styles available and each have there own advantages and disadvantages.
Loop Pile CarpetLoop pile carpets are heavy duty and wear extremely well. A loop pile carpet features yarn that is looped and left uncut. The pile is much easier to clean, and heavy track marks are less noticeable than with other styles of carpet. Textured Pile CarpetTextured loop carpet features loops are of varying height manufactured to create a textured look. Textured loop piles are the most common found in the loop range as it lends itself to great textured looks. Twist Pile CarpetTwist pile carpet is where the yarn is twisted to increase durability. The twisting minimizes traffic and vacuum cleaning marks. Twist pile carpet is usually a little more expensive due to the increased cost of production though the end result is well worth the extra cost. Plush Pile CarpetA classic, formal and luxurious choice created by manufacturing a high-density construction utilising a staple yarn. Plush pile yarns are warm, comfortable and soft, however they do sometimes show markings as well as being prone to watermarking. |
